Best AI chatbot for WooCommerce live chat and phone
Best for a WooCommerce helpdesk inbox: Crisp or Re:amaze — both document WooCommerce order context on written channels. Neither hosts inbound phone AI as the same agent as the widget. Crisp’s Hugo WISMO path names website chat, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp. Re:amaze’s AI Agent is documented on chat, email, and SMS; phone is Aircall, RingCentral, or JustCall.
Best for a WordPress plugin already on the site: Tidio + Lyro. Cart and order history in the widget. Lyro is written inbound AI. Tidio’s own review says no voice.
Best for a conversation suite already in the building: Intercom + Fin when Fin Voice is on this workspace. Fin for Ecommerce is native on Shopify. The non-Shopify catalog connector (includes other carts) is a closed beta.
Best for one published-plan agent on website live chat and the inbound number: Guzli, with the WooCommerce integration. Keep Crisp, Re:amaze, Help Scout, Salesforce, or Zendesk as the desk where leftover tickets land.
“Best” here is a job, not a timed bake-off. This page is the WooCommerce money shortlist for stores that need the widget and the packing-slip number from the same agent. It is not the Shopify inbox post (best Shopify helpdesk AI), not the generic agent gallery (best AI customer service agents), and not the cart-agnostic phone-chatbot list (best AI chatbot that answers the phone).
Guzli builds that chat-and-phone agent and wrote this page. Treat the Guzli rows as the publisher’s product. The other rows are desk research of each vendor’s public help and pricing, read 21 September 2026.
What we compared
A WooCommerce merchant asking for an AI chatbot that also answers the phone is usually buying one of three jobs: a WordPress-friendly inbox that sees orders next to tickets, a suite that already owns chat, or a front line that answers the storefront widget and the packing-slip number from the same knowledge base.
| Criterion | Why it matters on WooCommerce |
|---|---|
| Cart connection | Order lookup needs a documented WooCommerce path, not a Shopify screenshot |
| Website live chat | The WordPress storefront is where most questions start |
| Inbound phone AI | The number on the box is a different surface than the widget |
| Same agent on chat and phone | Two scripts drift; one knowledge base does not |
| How you buy | Published USD card vs sales-gated add-on vs plugin + second dialer |
| Where leftover tickets land | Most stores already have a desk and should keep it |
Gorgias still shows up on generic shortlists because Shopify veterans bring the brand. Gorgias’s automation compatibility matrix lists AI Agent, Flows, Order Management, and article recommendations as not supported on WooCommerce. The desk can still be Gorgias. The AI Agent SKU is not. Confirm what your workspace actually has.
Crisp, Tidio, Re:amaze, Help Scout, and Fin
Crisp. Official WooCommerce plugin plus chatbox (read 21 September 2026) puts the widget on the WordPress store and gives cart and order context for logged-in shoppers. Hugo integrations name WooCommerce Get user / Get order. The WISMO chatbot guide (updated 4 May 2026) names website chat, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp as the surfaces that share that workflow. Phone is Aircall for people — not Hugo answering the DID. Pairwise: Crisp AI vs a chat + phone agent. Best for: the WooCommerce inbox you already run. Not best for: the same AI on the widget and the store number.
Tidio. The WordPress plugin is the reason WooCommerce shops install it: website live chat, cart and order history, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and email in one dashboard. Lyro is written inbound AI. Tidio’s own review (cited on Guzli vs Tidio) says no voice support. Hitting the Lyro cap stops the AI agent. Best for: a plugin chat inbox on WordPress. Not best for: inbound phone AI.
Re:amaze. The AI Agent is documented on chat, email, and SMS, with Shopify or WooCommerce order lookup. Voice Channels connect Aircall, RingCentral, JustCall, or Office@Hand for humans. The AI Agent does not answer those lines on the pages we verified. Does Re:amaze answer the phone?. Best for: a multi-brand ecommerce desk. Not best for: native phone AI.
Help Scout. Beacon plus AI Answers is strong web help. Phone is Aircall, not the Beacon agent. Small WooCommerce teams that only needed Docs and a shared inbox can stay. Teams that also need the packing-slip number need a front line. Help Scout AI vs a chat + phone agent.
Intercom + Fin. Live chat is the suite. Fin Voice is sales-gated. Fin for Ecommerce is native on Shopify. The catalog connector for other carts is a closed beta and cannot add items to the cart or take shoppers to checkout. Best for: teams already on Fin who can get Voice enabled this month. Confirm the connector on this workspace before a deck says the WooCommerce catalog is live.
Guzli is one agent on website live chat and inbound voice, trained on help articles, the site, files, and solved tickets from Salesforce, Zendesk, or the desk you keep. Handoff opens a ticket in that desk or Guzli’s own help desk. Named carts when you connect them: Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, PrestaShop. The WooCommerce integration is the publisher’s path for order and policy questions on the widget and the forwarded number. Confirm the live connector on your store before a deck says write-actions (refund, cancel) are settled.
Same agent vs desk plus a phone product
| Stack | Chat | Phone | Same agent? | WooCommerce note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crisp + Aircall | Hugo on website live chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger | Human on Aircall | No — two products | Official WC plugin; Hugo Get order |
| Tidio + Lyro | WordPress widget | None on Lyro | No phone AI | Cart / order history in the plugin |
| Re:amaze + Aircall / RingCentral / JustCall | AI Agent on chat, email, SMS | Partner dialer | No — two products | Documented WooCommerce order lookup |
| Help Scout + Aircall | Beacon AI Answers | Human or Aircall Voice Agent | No — two products | Cart-agnostic Beacon on WordPress |
| Gorgias | Helpdesk | Consio / Ringly / human Voice | No — two products | AI Agent not supported on WooCommerce |
| Intercom + Fin Voice | Suite chat | Fin Voice, when enabled | Yes, when Voice is on the contract | Closed-beta catalog connector; native ecommerce is Shopify |
| Guzli in front of the desk you keep | Storefront widget | Inbound on Standard+ | Yes | Named WC integration |
A shared inbox is useful. It is not a shared agent. A return window updated in Docs on Tuesday can still be missing from a bolt-on voice script on Friday.
How a support call runs: Can AI answer phone calls?. Widget-first (any cart): best AI chatbot that also answers the phone.
Tuesday’s return window on a WooCommerce store
A Shopify screenshot does not answer this. The objects below are what a WooCommerce merchant actually bought.
A merchant changes the return window from 30 days to 14 in the help center on Tuesday. The shopper who types in the storefront widget and the shopper who dials the packing-slip number should both hear 14 days.
- Crisp + Aircall. Hugo can pick up the new article on website chat, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger once the knowledge is in Crisp. The caller hits a human on Aircall — or voicemail.
- Tidio + Lyro. Lyro answers from the written knowledge you gave it. There is no Lyro on the line.
- Re:amaze + a partner dialer. The AI Agent can use the new FAQ on chat, email, and SMS. The dialer is a person.
- Help Scout + Aircall. Beacon AI Answers can use the Docs update on the web. Phone is a second product.
- Gorgias. AI Agent is not the WooCommerce object. A human or a phone app answers from its own prompt.
- Fin Voice. The call uses Fin’s knowledge if Voice is enabled and the catalog connector is live on this workspace.
- Guzli. One knowledge base on the widget and the forwarded number. The desk you keep still owns the ticket.
The cart plugin and the phone add-on are different purchases on WooCommerce. Buying the first does not buy the second.
What actually changes if the desk stays
Tickets stay in Crisp, Re:amaze, Help Scout, Salesforce, or Zendesk. The new work, if you add a front line, is a storefront widget snippet, a forward of the packing-slip number (always, or only on no-answer / busy / after hours), and a knowledge base trained on help articles, the site, files, and solved tickets. That is not a helpdesk export and not a theme-app install from the WordPress.org directory unless the vendor’s connect flow says so (Crisp’s and Tidio’s do).
When this stack is the wrong buy
Guzli is the wrong replacement for Crisp Hugo on WhatsApp, Tidio Flows, or Help Scout Docs. Fin Voice is the wrong line item until Sales has enabled it on this workspace. Gorgias AI Agent is the wrong WooCommerce expectation — the compatibility matrix already said so.
If nobody calls, buy a chat inbox and stop. Phone-only answering services fail the widget test: AI answering service vs website chatbot.

| You should buy… | If… |
|---|---|
| Crisp (keep the desk) | WooCommerce orders already live in that inbox; Hugo on website live chat / WhatsApp / Facebook Messenger is the job; a human can take the call |
| Tidio (keep the plugin) | WordPress live chat + Lyro is enough; nobody calls |
| Re:amaze (keep the desk) | Multi-brand chat, email, and SMS; phone stays a partner dialer |
| Help Scout (keep the inbox) | Docs and Beacon are the system; phone is Aircall or out of scope |
| Intercom + Fin Voice | Fin is already the suite; Voice is on this workspace; you will run the catalog connector |
| Guzli | Storefront chat and inbound call on one published-plan agent; keep the desk you have |
Hobby is chat-only. Voice is Standard or Pro. Guzli does not host Crisp-class macros or Tidio Flows. This is desk research of public docs (21 September 2026), not a timed bake-off on a live WooCommerce store. Confirm each vendor on your cart and paper.
FAQ
Does Gorgias AI Agent run on WooCommerce?
No. Gorgias’s automation compatibility matrix lists AI Agent, Flows, Order Management, and article recommendations as not supported on WooCommerce. Confirm what your workspace actually has.
If I already have Crisp or Tidio, do I rip the inbox for phone AI?
No. Keep the inbox. Phone AI is a second product on those stacks (Aircall, or nothing). A shared inbox is not a shared agent.
Is this the same page as “best AI customer service agents”?
No. That gallery is suite-vs-front-line scoring across carts. This page is the WooCommerce shortlist for website live chat and inbound phone from the same agent.
