Synthflow vs a Chat + Phone AI Agent (2026)

Synthflow is voice-first with a separate Chat Agent and embeddable widget. Guzli is one agent for website live chat and inbound phone from the same knowledge — not two surfaces.

Synthflow vs a chat+phone AI agent

Pick Synthflow if a conversation designer or engineer will own a Voice Agent (inbound, outbound, or Voice Widget) and a Chat Agent is a second object you are willing to build and attach. Confirm packaging on synthflow.ai/pricing.

Pick Guzli if a small Shopify or WooCommerce team needs the same order-status and return answers on website live chat and the inbound store number, without standing up two agent types.

Synthflow has voice and an embeddable chat widget. The DNA is still voice-first. You pick the type when you create the agent. That is not one published support agent.

This post is the support fork: Synthflow vs a chat + phone agent for ecommerce. Adjacent assemblers: Retell AI vs a chat + phone agent, Vapi AI vs a chat + phone agent, Voiceflow vs a chat + phone agent. Do not read this as a Synthflow replacement guide.

Voice Agent and Chat Agent are two create-flows

Synthflow’s Create an Agent docs (read 21 September 2026) are explicit.

Voice Agent is the default motion. Sub-types: Inbound (phone calls), Outbound, and Voice Widget (spoken interactions on a website or app). That Voice Widget is voice in the browser, not typed website live chat.

Chat Agent is a separate type. Launch paths: API, an embeddable chat widget, WhatsApp, or SMS. WhatsApp and SMS need your own Twilio account and a US-region workspace. You pick Voice or Chat when you create the agent.

Prompt Builder and Flow Designer both work for either type. You choose one mode per agent and cannot mix them on the same agent. Switching modes means rebuilding.

A knowledge base is an object you attach to a model_id — the agent ID. Attach it twice if you created two agents. That is a builder step, not the default of one storefront brain.

Guzli is a packaged support agent. Train once on help articles, the site, files, and prior solved tickets plus articles from Salesforce, Zendesk, or the ticketing CRM you keep. Publish website live chat. Forward the number — always, or only on no-answer, busy, or after hours. Handoff opens a ticket in Salesforce, Zendesk, or Guzli’s own help desk. One inbox across those channels.

Verdict: Synthflow can cover chat and phone as two surfaces you wire. Guzli is one agent, not two.

Embeddable chat does not erase the split

Synthflow’s Launch Chat Agents page is a real widget: create a Chat Agent, copy embed code from Settings → Deployment, paste it on the site. Useful. The shopper who types is talking to the Chat Agent. The shopper who dials is talking to the Inbound Voice Agent.

You can copy prompts. You can attach the same knowledge base to both IDs. Confirm in your workspace that the typed “where is my order” and the packing-slip call hit one training set without two graphs drifting. Do not score a demo that pasted one FAQ into both agents last sprint.

Guzli’s same-agent story is the product: website live chat and inbound phone, one training set, no second agent type. Voice starts on Standard. Hobby stays chat-only. Cards: /pricing/. How a call runs: Can AI answer phone calls?.

Verdict: Synthflow has embeddable chat. Guzli is chat plus phone. The wedge is one agent, not two surfaces.

Freshcaller is a third object, not a storefront brain

Freshworks documents conversational voice as a marketplace install. You build the voice agent in Synthflow or Squawkvoice, then assign it in Freshcaller. Freshworks’ own Synthflow listing is labeled Not governed by Freshworks Freddy AI. A return article edited in Freshdesk on Tuesday can reach webchat and still be missing from the Synthflow prompt on Friday. That stack is Freddy vs a chat + phone agent.

Guzli’s Shopify integration is storefront context on the widget and the inbound line. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or PrestaShop only when you connect them. Not an App Store app. Named tools: Shopify, Stripe, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Calendly, HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, WhatsApp, Zapier. Not “every tool.”

Do not score the Freshcaller logo. Score whether the shopper who types and the shopper who dials hit one knowledge base.

Keep Synthflow when you are building voice agents

Stay on Synthflow when:

  • Inbound / outbound voice agents, SIP trunks, or a Voice Widget are the job.
  • Someone will own Flow Designer or Prompt Builder — and a second Chat Agent if typed chat is also in scope.
  • You are filling Freshcaller’s marketplace voice slot and will staff that second training loop.

Guzli will not out-canvas Synthflow. Voice-only receptionist vs chat-only widget is a third fork: AI answering service vs website chatbot.

Confirm current Synthflow pricing at synthflow.ai/pricing. The public page we opened 21 September 2026 is an Enterprise card: contracts start at $30,000 annually, scoped to volume, concurrency, and telephony. Docs say chat is measured at 5 AI-generated messages per usage minute, with the rate coming from your agreement; Twilio fees sit on top for SMS or WhatsApp. This post does not invent a self-serve Synthflow seat.

Guzli publishes Hobby, Standard, and Pro on /pricing/. Hobby is chat-only. Voice starts on Standard.

FAQ

Does Synthflow do website live chat and inbound phone?+

Yes as two create-flows. Voice Agent covers inbound calls and a spoken Voice Widget. Chat Agent covers the embeddable text widget, API chat, and (with Twilio, US-region) WhatsApp or SMS. Continuity across your snippet and your inbound number is something you confirm by attaching the same knowledge to both agents.

Is the Voice Widget the same as website live chat?+

No. The Voice Widget is a Voice Agent sub-type for spoken interactions on a page. Typed website live chat is a Chat Agent plus the embeddable widget.

Does Guzli replace Synthflow?+

No on the voice-agent platform, Flow Designer, or Freshcaller marketplace voice. Yes on the need for a bolted-on receptionist if the gap is the storefront widget and the inbound call sharing one brain.
