Fin Voice vs a Chat + Phone AI Agent (2026)

Fin Voice can put Fin on chat and the inbound number when Sales has enabled it. Guzli is one published-plan agent for website live chat and the store line. Confirm Voice on this workspace before treating them as the same buy.

Fin Voice vs a chat + phone AI agent

Pick Fin + Fin Voice if Intercom already is the suite, Fin Voice is on this workspace this month, and customers should hit the same Fin knowledge on Messenger (or suite chat) and the inbound number inside that contract.

Pick Guzli if a small Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, or PrestaShop team needs website live chat and the inbound store number — the one on the site or the packing slip — on one published-plan agent while Fin Voice is still sales-gated, and Salesforce or Zendesk stays the desk.

Guzli sells the second product and wrote this page. Facts below are from Intercom’s Deploy Fin Voice help, Fin Voice FAQs, fin.ai/pricing, and Salesforce’s 10 September 2026 close, read 19 September 2026 — not a resolution-rate bake-off. The yes/no for your line stays on Does Intercom Fin answer the phone?. Suite shopping: Fin alternatives and Guzli vs Intercom.

Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin (formerly Intercom) on 10 September 2026. That changes who owns the vendor. It does not, in the public Voice docs we opened the same week, remove the sales-partnered gate or publish a Voice ¢/min card.

Voice is a Fin channel — when Sales has turned it on

Deploy Fin Voice is Intercom’s own deploy guide: Fin on the call, using the existing knowledge base, then a handoff with full context. You test in a Voice Playground, then set Fin live on a number — Simple deploy (rollout percentage on the line) or Workflows deploy (Fin inside the interactive voice response / IVR phone menu). That is a real same-agent story inside the suite.

The same help page states the gate in one sentence: Fin Voice is currently limited to select customers partnered with our Sales team. It is supported on workspaces hosted in the US, EU, and Australia. If Voice is not opted in, the workspace sees a waitlist, not a toggle.

The deploy guide also states objects the gate paragraph often swallows:

  • Fin Voice supports 28 languages, with a default language per phone line. Simple deploy is one language per line; multiple languages need workflow routing.
  • Callers expect immediate, conversational answers. Intercom says thin or outdated knowledge is the most common reason Fin escalates calls unnecessarily.
  • Apex Flash (the low-latency Voice model) is automatically applied to existing Fin Voice customers on English-language, US-hosted workspaces — not a claim that every region gets it.

Fin Voice FAQs add mechanism, not brochure: Voice is intentionally more conversational than Fin over chat (clarifying questions, step-by-step) because a caller cannot skim a paragraph. A Fin Voice outcome is defined as a person asking a question, receiving at least one knowledge-base answer, then disconnecting — not the chat $0.99 “resolution / procedure handoff / disqualification” list. Voice Procedures that take mid-call actions (refunds, subscriptions, order edits) are a closed beta; they do not automatically inherit every chat Procedure capability. Telephony can sit on Intercom Phone or named third parties Intercom lists (including Talkdesk, Amazon Connect, Zoom, Aircall, CXOne, Five9).

fin.ai/pricing prices Fin Voice as a custom pricing plan, available to select customers working directly with sales. The public $0.99 per outcome card is Fin on chat, email, and the other listed channels — a different meter. Do not treat the outcome price as the phone product.

Guzli’s job is narrower. Train on help articles, the site, files, and solved tickets from Salesforce, Zendesk, or the desk you keep. Publish website live chat. Forward the number — always, or only on no-answer, busy, or after hours. Handoff opens a ticket in that desk or Guzli’s own help desk.

Worked path (desk research). Intercom already runs the inbox. Callers still hit a human, Intercom Phone, or voicemail until Fin Voice is enabled on this workspace. Tickets stay in Intercom. Fin procedures, transcripts, and the $0.99 outcome meter do not move to Guzli. If the gap this week is the storefront widget and the inbound store number disagreeing, the new work is publishing that widget and forwarding the number — not ripping Fin.

$0.99 outcomes are not the phone product

Fin’s public outcome price ($0.99, 50-outcome monthly minimum on the non-Intercom helpdesk plan) is how Fin bills a resolved chat or email conversation. Voice is custom. Ask the account manager. Until someone can show Fin Voice answering this number, on this workspace, this month, the honest answer for the line is still no.

Guzli (current plans and pricing, 19 September 2026): Hobby at $49/mo for chat-only. Standard at $149 + 16¢/min (talk 16¢/min, transfer 5¢/min, 3 concurrent). Pro at $499 + 14¢/min (talk 14¢/min, transfer 4¢/min, 8 concurrent). Hobby stays chat-only. How a support call actually runs: Can AI answer phone calls?. Customer-service intents (orders, refunds, after hours): Can AI do customer service calls?.

Stay on Fin when the suite already runs the inbox and Voice is (or will be) on the paper. Ripping Fin to “get a cheaper phone AI” is how you keep paying for outcomes and add a second agent on the line.

Why shortlists name Gorgias, Sierra, and Gladly

Ask for “Fin Voice vs a chat + phone agent” and the usual names are Gorgias plus a voice add-on, Fin + Fin Voice, Sierra, and Gladly. Those are suite or enterprise same-agent stories — not a published storefront card.

Guzli is the published-plan front line when those names are the right category and still the wrong calendar for a store that needs the widget and the line to agree this quarter.

Shopify context is not a Fin App Store install

Fin can take actions on connected systems when those connectors are on the workspace. Confirm Shopify (or Stripe) on your Fin account before a deck says the catalog is live. Deploy Fin Voice also requires a phone number enabled in Phone settings, then Simple deploy (rollout percentage) or Workflows deploy (Fin inside the IVR phone menu). That is suite telephony — forwarding or a SIP phone-system connection — not a theme-app install from apps.shopify.com.

Guzli’s Shopify integration is storefront context on the widget and the inbound line. It is not a Shopify App Store app. Named tools only when you connect them: Shopify, Stripe, Calendly, HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, WhatsApp, Zapier.

The shopper who types “Where is my order?” (WISMO) in the widget and the shopper who dials the store number should hit one knowledge base — without waiting on a Voice enablement ticket.

FAQ

Can Fin Voice cover website live chat and inbound phone with the same agent?+

Yes, when Fin Voice is on the account. Intercom treats Phone as a Fin channel. Confirm it is enabled for your workspace — Intercom still describes it as sales-partnered and region-hosted (US, EU, Australia). Fin already does suite chat; Voice is the separately sold phone add-on.

Does Guzli replace Fin?+

No on the suite. Yes on the need for a bolted-on receptionist if the gap is the storefront widget and the inbound call sharing one knowledge base on a published plan. Keep Fin as the inbox. Do not rip the suite only to cover the store number.

Who owns Fin after September 2026?+

Salesforce, as of the 10 September 2026 close. That changes who owns the vendor. Public Voice help still describes sales-partnered availability; we did not find a Voice packaging change on fin.ai/pricing the same week.

Are $0.99 outcomes the phone price?+

No. The public $0.99 per outcome price is Fin on chat, email, and the other listed channels (50-outcome monthly minimum on the non-Intercom helpdesk plan). fin.ai/pricing prices Fin Voice as a custom plan for select customers working with sales. A Fin Voice outcome is defined as a person asking a question, receiving at least one knowledge-base answer, then disconnecting — not that chat list.
