Best AI Customer Support Agent for BigCommerce (2026)

The best AI support agent for a BigCommerce store depends on the job: a helpdesk inbox, a conversation suite, or one agent on storefront chat and the store number. Guzli publishes this comparison.

BigCommerce merchant comparing a storefront live-chat widget with a ringing store phone

Best AI customer support agent for BigCommerce (2026)

Best for a BigCommerce helpdesk inbox: Gorgias or Richpanel — both document a BigCommerce store connection and run tickets, chat, and macros. Neither hosts inbound phone AI as the same agent as the widget. Gorgias’s autonomous AI Agent is not supported on BigCommerce; the inbox recommendation is the helpdesk, not that AI Agent add-on.

Best for a conversation suite already in the building: Intercom + Fin or Gladly + Voice AI. Fin Voice and Gladly Voice AI can cover chat and the line when that voice add-on is on this account. Gladly also documents a native BigCommerce app. Fin’s BigCommerce path is a closed-beta catalog connector, not a one-click Shopify-style install.

Best for one published-plan agent on storefront chat and the inbound number: Guzli, with the BigCommerce integration. Keep Gorgias, Richpanel, Freshdesk, Salesforce, or Zendesk as the desk where leftover tickets land.

“Best” here is a job, not a timed bake-off. A merchant whose job is macros and social tickets should not buy as if the job were the packing-slip number.

Guzli builds that chat-and-phone agent and wrote this page. Treat the Guzli rows as the publisher’s product. The other rows are desk research of each vendor’s public help and pricing, read 19 September 2026 — not a timed store test or a regulated-industry sign-off.

This page picks an AI support agent for a BigCommerce cart. Shopify inbox scoring is best Shopify helpdesk AI. Cart-vs-cart stacks are BigCommerce vs Shopify helpdesk AI. Siri vs a business line is best phone AI assistant.

What we compared

A BigCommerce merchant asking for an AI customer support agent is usually buying one of three jobs: an inbox that sees orders next to tickets, a suite that already owns chat, or a front line that answers the storefront widget and the packing-slip number from the same knowledge base.

CriterionWhy it matters on BigCommerce
Cart connectionOrder lookup and refunds need a documented BigCommerce path, not a Shopify screenshot
Written-channel AIEmail, live chat, and social are where most tickets start
Inbound phone AIThe number on the box is a different surface than the widget
Same agent on chat and phoneTwo scripts drift; one knowledge base does not
How you buyPublished USD card vs sales-gated add-on vs outcomes contract
Where leftover tickets landMost stores already have a desk and should keep it

Public shortlists also name Zendesk, Freshdesk, and specialist agents. If that desk already holds the BigCommerce tickets, it is usually the inbox — not a reason to rip it for a phone add-on.

Gorgias, Richpanel, Intercom, and Gladly

Gorgias. Official BigCommerce setup (read 19 September 2026) imports products, customers, and order history. From the ticket sidebar, Gorgias says agents can create new orders and process refunds without leaving the helpdesk. That is a human helpdesk action. Gorgias’s automation compatibility matrix lists AI Agent and Order Management automation as Shopify-only; Flows and article recommendations are supported on BigCommerce. Multi-store merchants repeat the connect steps per store. Install goes through the BigCommerce App Marketplace. Gorgias Voice is an add-on: customers call the support number to speak with an agent, and the interaction is saved as a Voice ticket. Phone AI is a second product — Consio or Ringly — which logs a ticket back into Gorgias. Best for: the ecommerce inbox you already run. Not best for: the same AI answering live chat and the store number.

Richpanel. Richpanel’s BigCommerce update syncs orders and shipments into customer profiles. Richpanel’s own AI agents FAQ (19 September 2026) says it does not host the voice line; phone is Aircall, Dialpad, or JustCall so notes sit beside the conversation. Best for: an ecommerce helpdesk with BigCommerce order context. Not best for: native phone AI.

Intercom + Fin. Live chat is the suite. Fin Voice is an AI agent on an ordinary inbound phone number or a SIP address, “limited to select customers partnered with our Sales team,” with pricing on the order form. Fin for Ecommerce is native on Shopify. The non-Shopify catalog connector (includes BigCommerce) is a closed beta — contact the Intercom account team — and Intercom says that publish can recommend products in Messenger but cannot add items to the cart or take shoppers to checkout. Best for: teams already on Fin who can get Voice enabled this month. Confirm the connector and commerce actions on this workspace before a deck says the catalog is live.

Gladly. A conversation platform: Customer timeline, Guides, Sidekick. Voice AI is marked add-on (contact Gladly or your customer success manager). Gladly says the same Guides apply across channels, including Voice. BigCommerce setup uses Gladly’s Lookup Adaptor so agents can look up customers and cancel, refund, or discount from the conversation. Best for: larger B2C that already lives in Gladly and will put Voice AI on the order form. Not a self-serve storefront publish.

Sierra. sierra.ai/product/voice is inbound and outbound contact-center voice on the same Agent OS as chat. Pricing is outcomes; talk to Sierra. Confirm your commerce system in Sierra’s live Integration Library. Best for: an enterprise program with a team to run journeys. Wrong buy if you needed a mid-market BigCommerce card this quarter.

The desk you already run. Zendesk and Freshdesk show up as desks where leftover tickets land because that is how most BC stores already work. They are not scored here as “best BC AI agent.” If the inbox is already there, keep it.

Guzli is one agent on website live chat and inbound voice, trained on help articles, the site, files, and solved tickets from Salesforce, Zendesk, or the desk you keep. Handoff opens a ticket in that desk or Guzli’s own help desk. Named carts when you connect them: Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, PrestaShop. Guzli publishes a BigCommerce integration page that claims order lookup and catalog sync. We did not independently verify an App Store listing or which BigCommerce objects the live connector can write (refund, cancel, discount). Unverified is not “same as Gladly’s Lookup Adaptor.”

A shared inbox is useful. It is not a shared agent. A return window updated in the helpdesk on Tuesday can still be missing from a bolt-on voice script on Friday.

What the cart connection actually does

Gorgias documents agent-side create-order and refund from the ticket (human sidebar, not AI Agent — that add-on is Shopify-only). Gladly names cancel, refund, and discount codes from the conversation. Richpanel documents order and shipment sync into the profile. Fin on BigCommerce documents a catalog publish for product Q&A in Messenger — closed beta, no cart or checkout — not the same object as a native Shopify Fin install. Guzli’s named integration is the publisher’s path for order and policy questions on the widget and the forwarded number; treat write-actions as unconfirmed until you see them on your store.

Keep Gorgias, Richpanel, Fin, or Gladly when that inbox already holds macros and the people queue. Guzli does not replace that desk.

Tuesday’s return window on a BigCommerce store

A Shopify screenshot does not answer this. The objects below are what a BigCommerce merchant actually bought.

A merchant changes the return window from 30 days to 14 in the helpdesk on Tuesday. The shopper who types in the storefront widget and the shopper who dials the packing-slip number should both hear 14 days. What actually happens depends on which object you bought:

  • Gorgias helpdesk + Consio / Ringly. A human or a Flow can pick up the new macro. Gorgias AI Agent is not the BigCommerce object — it is Shopify-only and does not use macros. The phone app answers from its own prompt until someone copies the change. Gorgias Voice is a caller speaking with an agent, saved as a Voice ticket. Consio’s Gorgias app logs a ticket; it does not train on Gorgias macros.
  • Richpanel + Aircall / Dialpad / JustCall. Same split. Richpanel does not host the voice line.
  • Fin Voice. The call uses Fin’s knowledge if Voice is enabled on this workspace (Deploy Fin Voice). The closed-beta BigCommerce catalog connector publishes products for Messenger Q&A and cannot add to cart or checkout. It is not proof the return article is on the inbound store number.
  • Gladly Voice AI. Same Guides across channels, including Voice — when the add-on is live. BigCommerce actions are cancel / refund / discount from the conversation, not a substitute for Voice being on the paper.
  • Guzli. One knowledge base on the widget and the forwarded number. The desk you keep still owns the ticket.

The cart connection and the phone add-on are different purchases on BigCommerce. Buying the first does not buy the second. If the cart API is down or a webhook is late, every row above can still answer from stale help-center text — that failure is shared, not unique to one vendor.

What actually changes if the desk stays

Tickets stay in Gorgias, Richpanel, Freshdesk, Salesforce, or Zendesk. The new work, if you add a front line, is a storefront widget snippet, a forward of the packing-slip number (always, or only on no-answer / busy / after hours), and a knowledge base trained on help articles, the site, files, and solved tickets. That is not a helpdesk export and not a theme-app install from the BigCommerce marketplace unless the vendor’s connect flow says so (Gorgias’s does).

When this stack is the wrong buy

Guzli is the wrong replacement for Gorgias or Richpanel macros, TikTok-style social tickets, or a Gladly Customer timeline. Sierra is the wrong buy for a three-person BigCommerce shop that needed a public card this month. Fin Voice is the wrong line item until Sales has enabled it on this workspace.

B2B / customer-group catalogs, multi-storefront, and headless storefronts need a connector that actually sees those objects. Confirm that on the live integration — including Guzli’s — before a deck says “the agent knows the cart.”

Hobby is chat-only. Voice is Standard or Pro. Guzli does not host Gorgias-class macros. This is desk research of public docs (19 September 2026), not a timed bake-off on a live BigCommerce store. Confirm each vendor on your cart and paper — prices and Voice packaging change.

FAQ

Does Gorgias AI Agent run on BigCommerce?+

No. Gorgias’s automation compatibility matrix lists AI Agent and Order Management as Shopify-only. On BigCommerce you get the helpdesk, Flows, and article recommendations. Sidebar create-order and refund are human actions, not that AI Agent add-on.

If I already have Gorgias or Richpanel, do I rip the desk for phone AI?+

No. Keep the inbox. Phone AI is a second product on those stacks (Consio, Ringly, Aircall, Dialpad, or JustCall). A shared inbox is not a shared agent.

Can Fin add BigCommerce products to the cart?+

No. The non-Shopify catalog connector (includes BigCommerce) is a closed beta. Intercom says that publish can recommend products in Messenger but cannot add items to the cart or take shoppers to checkout.
