Vapi vs Bland
Vapi is a modular BYOK voice API you assemble; Bland is owned phone infrastructure with a bundled minute.
This is a platform-versus-platform shortlist in August 2026, not a Guzli-first essay. Engineers pick Vapi to wire STT, LLM, TTS, and telephony. Outbound and Pathways buyers pick Bland because it runs the stack. Guzli is column three only when the website and the phone must share one agent. Hobby is $49 chat only.
Vapi vs Bland vs Guzli
Side-by-side architecture. Guzli is column three, not the frame.
| Dimension | Vapi | Bland | Guzli |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | API-first assembler. You wire STT, LLM, TTS, and telephony, often with your own keys. | Owned phone infrastructure. Pathways, volume outbound, and a bundled talk minute plus platform fees on higher tiers. | No-code website chat plus inbound, outbound, and on-site voice on one knowledge base. Unified inbox: Email, Chat, Voice, Slack, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook. |
| Price model | $0.05/min hosting plus STT, LLM, TTS, and telephony meters — or $0 on those meters if you bring keys. Not an all-in rate. | December 2025 Start connected talk $0.09–$0.14; Build $299 and Scale $499 platform fees; transfer extra unless BYOT; $0.015 failed/outbound min; daily caps reject. | Hobby $49 chat only (1,000 credits). Voice starts Standard $149 + 16¢/min (3 concurrent, ~250 calls/day, transfer 5¢). Pro $499 + 14¢/min (8 concurrent, ~1,000/day, transfer 4¢). Overages billed; the bot stays up. |
| Who operates it | You or your vendor. Vapi orchestrates providers. | Bland owns the stack. | Guzli cloud SaaS; ops edit answers. Named tools: Shopify, Stripe, Calendly/Cal.com, Zendesk, HubSpot, Salesforce. |
| Inbound vs outbound vs website | Inbound and outbound phone via API. Messaging is a developer surface, not a support chatbot. | Inbound plus high-volume outbound. Web chat is listed on Enterprise, not as self-serve support chat. | Website chat, inbound, outbound, and on-site voice on one agent. |
| Time to first live number | After keys, telephony, and a prompt land — an engineering session, not a published SLA. | Pathways can sketch a flow; production usually still wants an engineer. | Chat widget is no-code. A live number needs Standard voice. Hobby cannot place calls. |
| Bottom line | Stay if BYOK, SIP, or a voice product you resell is the spec. | Stay for owned infra, Pathways, or high concurrent outbound. | Only if the website and the phone must share one agent on one bill. |
10,000 talk-minutes, modeled not invented
On Guzli Standard, 10,000 talk-minutes is $149 + (10,000 × 16¢) = $1,749, plus transfer minutes at 5¢. Vapi is $0.05 hosting plus whatever STT, LLM, TTS, and telephony actually invoiced — this page will not invent an all-in Vapi ¢/min. Bland’s December 2025 rate card is Start $0.09–$0.14 plus platform fees on Build/Scale; 10,000 minutes on Start talk is in that ¢ band before fees, not a Guzli all-in claim.
Bunny Honey Club published 10,000-call figures — a different unit than 10,000 talk-minutes — as that post’s math: Retell about $2.8k, Bland Scale about $4.9k, Vapi stack about $10–13k. Those totals are not Guzli’s model. Cheap BYOK on Vapi can land under Guzli’s bundled 14–16¢. That can be the correct Vapi outcome.

Latency without vendor folklore
Vendor sub-500ms figures are not what a caller hears. Openbenchmarks TTFAB was about 1.5s median (31 July 2026, via CloudTalk). Model choice, turn-detection, and telephony overhead still dominate. This page does not claim Guzli is faster than Vapi or Bland.
Choose-if
Two bullets each. No fake winner.
Vapi
- Stay if an engineer will own STT, LLM, TTS, telephony, and BYOK.
- Stay if the thing you sell is a voice API, SIP trunk, or live take-over.
Bland
- Stay for owned phone infrastructure, Pathways, or high concurrent outbound.
- Stay if volume economics on a bundled minute matter more than a website chatbot.
Guzli
- Choose Guzli only if website chat, on-site voice, and phone must share one knowledge base.
- Ops will run it without a pull request. Hobby is chat-only; voice starts on Standard at $149 + 16¢/min.
